The Winter Palace is an integral part of Anbar, strategically positioned within the city:
- The palace is enclosed by ramparts on the landward side and bordered by the Euphrates river.
- It occupies a dominant position, elevated on a plinth to emphasize its importance over the common people.
- Highly visible from every angle, all paths within the city lead toward the palace.
The design draws structural inspiration from the Topkapi Palace and takes its spatial layout from the Alhambra in Granada:
- It evokes a sense of progression toward a significant, almost sacred destination.
- The layout follows a tripartite spatial organization, moving from public to private areas: beginning with the large garden, followed by an open courtyard, and finally reaching the palace itself.
Working with Yoann Riot (Quest Design) and Nathanael Millet (Level Art), we designed the Winter Palace to offer the best possible stealth experience while maintaining architectural authenticity.
Special thanks to everyone involved in creating this palace, and thanks to Nathanael for some screenshots.
